What we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
This site is operated by Old Dad TX LLC, Roanoke, Texas. Contact: liam@olddadtx.com. This page describes what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you email us, message us on WhatsApp or social media, or request a design or stone, we receive what you share — such as your name, contact details, design preferences, ring size, budget, and shipping address.
- Payment information. Payments made through our payment page are processed by PayPal (including Venmo) or Stripe. They collect your payment details directly; we do not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited details such as the amount, the order reference you enter, and a transaction ID.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our host and the services the site loads may receive technical data such as your IP address and browser type. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, and the payment page loads PayPal’s scripts.
Analytics and cookies (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use this site — for example, pages viewed, how you move through the site, and basic interactions that Google Analytics records automatically (such as scrolls and outbound link clicks). This helps us improve the site.
What is collected. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<ID>) and collects information such as pages visited, referring site, approximate location (city/region, derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics 4 does not log or store), device and browser type, and on-site interactions. We do not send your name, email, phone number, or message contents to Google Analytics, and we do not use it for advertising or ad personalization.
Retention and settings. Google Analytics event data is kept for 2 months. Google signals and Google’s advertising features are turned off, and we don’t use any advertising or retargeting tools.
Google as processor. Google processes this data on our behalf under its terms. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Other than analytics cookies and those set by our payment providers on the payment page, this site does not use tracking cookies. We don’t currently use advertising or retargeting tools on this site. If we add them, we’ll update this policy first.
How we use information
- To respond to your questions and quote, design, make, ship, and support your order.
- To process payments, prevent fraud, and keep records, including for tax and accounting.
- To send updates you ask for. We only add you to an email list if you opt in, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with service providers who help us run the business — for example payment processors (PayPal, Stripe), shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) and shipping insurers, our design partner 4EVERU for custom orders you request, and our website host (Surge) — or when required by law.
Social media and messaging
If you contact us through WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest, those platforms’ own privacy policies also apply to that communication.
How long we keep information
We keep order, payment and communication records for up to 7 years, as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes, and other inquiries for up to 2 years.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing liam@olddadtx.com. We’ll respond to requests within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity first.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our site and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
